Libssh is a C library that allows clients and servers to implement the SSHv2 protocol. It provides a range of functions such as remote program execution, secure and transparent tunneling, file transfer, and public key management. It is multi-platform and can be used on various operating systems. Libssh recently released version 0.10.5 and 0.9.7, which include security updates and bug fixes for vulnerabilities such as NULL dereferences during rekeying, authorization bypasses, and memory leaks in GSSAPI authentication code. Other updates include fixes for build and testing issues and improvements to documentation. Projects such as KDE, GitHub, and Cockpit use Libssh for secure file transfers, administering multiple machines, and git SSH infrastructure. Users who are new to Libssh can access tutorials and join the mailing list or IRC or Matrix channels for assistance.
